goodbye davis.

i'm moving on friday! i mentioned in my graduation post that i'll be moving to a little town called san luis obispo for graduate school. it's on california's central coast about halfway between san francisco and los angeles, and about 5.5 hours from davis, so it'll definitely be a change of scenery for me!  hence, i thought it would be appropriate to do a post about some of my favorite places in davis before i leave.

warning: my camera was apparently stuck on some weird setting that made all of these photos turn out a little grainy and out of focus, so i experimented with some filters in picnik to try to lessen the damage....apologies in advance for the odd quality! :D

and now for our little tour of campus:

these are the eggheads, which are sculptures all over campus that tie-in to various buildings. the one below is called "bookhead" and is in front of the library. they are always talked about on campus tours and are very recognizable as davis landmarks.

these ones are in front of the theatre/art/music buildings. there are many others around campus, but these are some of my favorites!

outfit // shirt: ucd bookstore! // skirt: local boutique // heels: forever 21
addendum: my shirt says "uc davis aggies" on it. the aggies are our school mascot, so to speak. the term comes from our school's agricultural roots, while the actual mascot is a mustang horse named gunrock. i absolutely love how cheesy this all is.

and another favorite sighting of mine on campus: "the bunners".
089

they are tiny bunnies (not jack-rabbits, actual bunnies!) that live in a grassy area of campus. i've always stopped and tried to snap some pictures of them on my phone as i walk by only to be left with a photo of a brown blob in the grass. regardless, they are one of my favorite signals that spring is coming to davis!

it's bittersweet to be leaving. i love davis, and i feel that i'll miss the most insignificant things- walking familiar routes to class, eating at my favorite restaurants, going to the farmer's market every week... but at the same time, this is such an exciting time for me- starting graduate school, a new job- there are so many possibilities. i know i'll get to know and love my new town as much as i love davis, and i really am excited to start this new chapter.

two announcements: i have a couple of blog posts ready to go that would chronologically fall before this one, but i felt that this one is much more timely with my moving this week. so get ready for some retroactive posts coming up!

also: i started a pinterest account. it has been my new favorite way to waste time and distract myself from the huge amount of packing i still have left to do. follow me here!
