at the zoo!

last week, joe and i went to the sacramento zoo for a vintage car show and picnic. they stayed open late, and we could walk all around and look at the animals, and they had bands playing and old cars everywhere. my dad builds hot rods and writes for car magazines for a living, and brought his car down for the show.

on the same street as the zoo, there is a little children's amusement park called "funderland" with rides and next door is "fairy tale town" with storybook characters. of course we had to stop and take pictures there first! i loved all the kitschy decorations!

and a trip to the zoo wouldn't be complete without the animals!

i've loved taking little day and evening trips like these during this summer- since i work 6 days a week, i really enjoy having our little adventures during my time off!

i'm getting ready to move in just two and a half weeks! i'm going crazy trying to organize and pack all my things in time- i have way too much stuff! :)

  1. Aww! I want to go to Funderland! It sounds magical!

Hehe, that looks like an excellent day. I love old cars! If I knew anything about cars, I would totally be one of those people who fix up old cars. That would be so much fun!
