sunflower fields

there are tons of huge sunflower fields in and around davis; everytime we drive by one i always get so excited! we have never stopped to visit one before, but as we drove by this one last week joe realized that the flowers are probably at their optimum point in the summer before it gets too hot for them. i thought it would be the perfect opportunity to style one of my new modcloth dresses!

there were lots of bee colonies in the fields, and most of the flowers had bees on them!



i really enjoyed our little trip to the sunflowers- it was on my list of things to do before i leave davis! i feel like blogging has gotten me to branch out and do things i wouldn't normally do, and this is definitely one! we were totally trespassing, we had to park our car out by the road and hike aways into the fields, and most of the flowers themselves were protected  by a little moat that ran all along the outside of them! joe was really paranoid that we would get caught, but we had a great time, and these are some of my favorite pictures from this summer so far!
