i've seen the "photo an hour" feature on many blogs, and wanted to try it out! i work 6 days a week, so most of my days would be pretty boring to document. (unless anyone finds excel charts super exciting?) so i tried to capture my "weekend" last saturday, when we met up with joe's folks for some breakfast, got some shopping done, and did a little diy!
i picked up these great old lady pants from the thrift store a few weeks ago, and while i'm pretty sure culottes are the epitome of chic, i decided i would help them out a little by shortening them into some cute high-waisted floral shorts! not bad for $5! (the kitty in the photo was just a bonus they threw in)
and... ta-da! the finished product:
outfit // top: forever 21 // belt and wedges: urban outfitters // shorts: thrift + diy
9 am: we met joe's parents and grandma for breakfast at this cute place called dad's kitchen, where i had the most delicious french toast of my life:
11 am: joe and i do a little thrifting (and gifting?) this storefront is so adorable!
12pm: joe's mom had bought me a cake pop from a cute little bakery. this one was labeled "harry potter fire pop" (this was the weekend of the movie premiere) i failed to notice the word fire, i just got excited because it said harry potter. it was a mix of delicious chocolate fudginess and super spicy chili-ness.
i am really wimpy about spicy foods :(
2pm: we ventured over to the mall with the goal of finding me a new purse, and were successful at urban outfitters:
4pm: relaxing at home with a book (and there's that cat again......)
*i'm just kidding. i'm not sure how many pictures i've shown of my cat amelie, but she is actually mine and i love her more than is probably healthy :D
6pm: we bbq'ed up some dinner and brought it all outside to enjoy the cooler weather:
we did do some other things throughout the day like computers and tv, that weren't too worth documenting. all in all, it was a lovely day off from work!

Those shorts look super cute you did a great job :)
ReplyDeletegreat job on those shorts, they look fantastic. the french toast look yummm. I have to say I'm a bit wimpy for spicy things too, I can tolerate some but not alot (which is kind of bad considering my latin heritage :)

Those shorts look so good! I am super impressed, I never would have even thought to buy grandma pants and turn them into something that looks like you got them at Anthropologie! :)
