home for the holdiay

well, i haven't even logged into blogger for the past two weeks- i haven't posted, i haven't been reading blogs at all! this wasn't an intentional blogging break, more due to finally turning in my research paper for this quarter!

i went home to my parent's up in the mountains for thanksgiving, and it has been the best few days i've had in a long while. i've been so relaxed; i missed these hills more than i realized. my dad loves photography, he was so excited to take some pictures with me, and i was excited to get out of my backyard and not have to use a tripod for once!

with the exception of getting dressed for some pictures, i'm not even embarrassed to admit that i've lived in sweatpants since i got home! i've been working on a project for school that requires some family pictures, and it has been so much fun looking through all of our family albums with my parents while i've been here. 

while on the topic of the holiday and giving thanks, i really could not be more thankful for my parents and the relationship we have. i'm an only child, and we have always been close, and as i get older, i feel like we get to know each other in new ways every time i come home. i was really wanting a break from school and the stress of the everyday, and after being here with them for a few days, i feel so relaxed and happy and grateful. 

also, what photoshoot could be complete without some.........jumping shots?! there were leaves and pine needles and i just could not resist :)

i hope everyone else had a wonderful, relaxing, delicious holiday as well! i have some more pictures from my visit home to share with you once i get back. tomorrow will be a day-long amtrak ride, but luckily i have games of thrones (the book) and my knitting to keep me occupied!
