beach day

since i live in sunny southern california, i rejected all sense of fall festivities and celebrated halloween by having a picnic at the beach!

we went to this beautiful state park called montana de oro, which is only about 15 minutes from my house! there's a nice little sandy beach area, hiking trails, and all these crazy rocks to climb on! i kept thinking how these rocks looked like the edges of book pages.

we also saw some tide pools! i was hoping to see some little critters, but was satisfied with the plant life :)

i had every intention of dressing up and attending a halloween party later in the evening (i was going to be a flapper), but was very tired when i got back from the beach, so i stayed home and had a doctor who marathon instead. all in all, it was pretty much my idea of a perfect day :D

outfit details: top and flats: old navy, skirt: thrifted

  1. I'm so jealous of the beautiful scenery. I do love my midwest corn fields, but that tide pool is so freaking cool! Gorgeous! I want to visit California now.
