These pictures are from a few weekends ago, a friend and I went downtown SLO for a street art festival. It was so much fun- the art was amazing! The main streets of downtown were closed to traffic, and artists took over and chalked the entire street!
this was definitely one of the coolest pieces there- you had to look through a magnifying glass to see it in the correct perspective, and I had to wait in line to get a picture of it!
I love the buildings here and how cute the downtown area is! I definitely want to do more things like this.
i didn't really get dressed up cute or anything, it was just a fun casual weekend day! i got this top at old navy for $6 on sale- you can't really tell in the photo, but it's some kind of sheer sweatshirt-like thing. i wasn't too sure about it when I got it, but it was super comfy for a day like this!
also, a big thank you to all of you who offered book suggestions on my last post! i picked up 2010's best american non-required reading, and so far have really enjoyed it. it's nice to be able to read a short essay and then be able to put the book down for a while without getting lost!
the lovely heather of 29 Skirts was kind enough to feature me in her september favorites post! i was so excited to find out, and honored to be chosen among a list of other great bloggers.
last exciting thing: a photo from my last post was featured on the modcloth tumblr page! yaaay blog love!
anyway, i'm off to a busy weekend full of textbooks, peer-reviewed journal articles, and a visit from my mom!

Holy moly, that street art festival looks amazing! And congratulations on all your exciting news, lady :)

The street drawings are pretty awesome, and it sounds like you have a much better approach to grad school than mine was... I definitely made sure the blog kept hopping, let's just say. There's nothing better than comfy weekend outfits, meanwhile...
ReplyDeleteAh, looks like such a fun time. I love little art festivals like this...unfortunately for us, they only happen in the summer time. All the art looks gorgeous but I especially love that Beatles chalk drawing. Best wishes on all your grad work:)
